Notes
Script: Calligraphically written throughout by a single skilled hand employing a variety of different scripts, especially on the title page, a neat Fraktur employed for the man text, Latin passages in a cursive script, occasional words or letters in Hebrew.
Watermarks: Paper with indistinct watermark at folds and cut, not identified, but perhaps consisting of large letters including a heart-shaped "M."
Each written page within a pen-drawn border 158 x 120, occasional headlines within the bordering frame; the inserted leaves with full-page illustrations with pen-drawn borders usually 145 x 95.
Transcribed by Jacobus Bernardus Franciscus Eckhart.
Binding: Nineteenth-century red leather, the sides paneled with double gilt rule, a small wheel-like tool at each corner of the rectangle so formed, upper cover gold-stamped, "ABRAHAM ELEAZARIS M.S.," backstrip divided into compartments by pairs of gold rules, modern leather title label glued to backstrip, all edges gilt.

Summary
Manuscript on paper of a partial transcription of the first part only of Uraltes chymisches Werk, without the letter of L. N. Dobelius, a dictionary, and the register, according to the contents listed by Ferguson 1, p. 3, and without the second part of the work. The drawings on inserted leaves are finely executed copies of the plates engraved by J.E. Boeck of Weimar which occur in both editions, and the woodcuts which occur in the printed text are also copied in the text of this transcript.
