The General Pipe Line Company of California built the Midway Oil Field Pipeline in the early 20th century to transport oil from California's inland, oil-rich Kern County to the port city of San Pedro, adjacent to Los Angeles.

Bound volume of approximately eighty typescript documents, including specificiations, contracts, and reports, related to the construction of the Midway Oil Field Pipeline. The records were kept by David Dorward as Purchasing Agent for the General Pipe Line Company of California.
