William Winter, American dramatic critic, author and poet.
Summary
Contains correspondence and autograph manuscript drafts of writings and notes. Correspondents are J. H. Brown, Harry Edwards, W. M. Griswold, Joseph N. Ireland, W. J. Linton, Henry Magonigle, Donald Grant Mitchell, J. R. Osgood, D. B. Sickel, Benjamin H. Ticknor, J. C. Young, and Tyrone and Emma Power. The correspondence is dated 1876-1916. Writings are an autograph manuscript, signed, of his poem "Good-bye to Edwin Booth," dated 1880 June 15; an autograph manuscript copy of "A Dream of the Past," dated 1881 October; bound autograph manuscript notes containing answers to questions regarding his biography and bibliography, undated; and bound autograph manuscript notes entitled "Law Notes from Harvard Law School, 1856-1857".
