Summary
Manuscript in a late 19th century hand, containing two asmat prayers and illuminations of talismanic symbols.
Two Asmat Prayers: 1. Asmat prayer against suffering of Barya and Legewon invoking the story from the Book of Jonah “as you saved Jonah from headache. . . .” (ዘስማ ዳቢት); 2. Asmat prayer against the evil eye (ሕመማ ዓይንት) invoking the power of the holy cross of Jesus Christ; and against the evil eye of Budda, Legewon.
Illuminations: 1. Ornate cross with a figure standing on either side (Mary and John, the beloved); 2. Talismanic symbol based on the 9 box frame with face in center; 3. A small harag at the end of the scroll.
