Biographical / Historical Note
The Fulton, a wooden hulled, brig-rigged, sidewheel steamer was built in 1855 for the New York & Havre Steam Navigation Co. She was a transatlantic mail steamer, operating between her home port of Southampton, New York, to Liverpool, England, and Le Havre, France. She was withdrawn from this service in the fall of 1867 and was broken up and sold for scrap in 1869. The New York & Havre Steam Navigation Co. closed in 1867.
