Ammā baʻd, fa-hādhā 'Ḥall Talkhīṣ al-Miftāḥ', akhadhtuhu min al-ḥawāshī wa-al-shurrāḥ. Qāla al-muṣa[nnif]: Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm. al-Ḥamdu lillāh ʻalá mā anʻam, ay, ʻalá inʻāmih ..."

البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. الحمد لله على نعمته، والصلاة والسلام على سيدنا محمد عين عنايته ورحمته، وعلى آله وصحبه العاملين بشرعه وسنّته. أمّا بعد، فهذا 'حلّ تلخيص المفتاح'، أخذته من الحواشي والشرّاح. قال المصـ‍‍[ـ‍‍نف]: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. الحمد لله على ما أنعم، أي، على إنعامه ..."

Text ends with: "... wa-lam yuqaddar, ay, wa-lam yulāḥaẓ al-taqdīr, aw, lam yujaz al-taqdīr, wa-law quddirra bi-al-fiʻl jahlan bi-al-qawāʻid, naḥwa Zaydun qāma, fa-innahu lā yajūzu, inna aṣlahu qāma Zaydun, fa-quddima, li-annahu yakūnu idhā ukhkhira fāʻilan lafẓan lā maʻnan, fa-yalzamu ʻalá kawn aṣlihi Zaydun qāma, qāma Zaydun, taqdīm al-fāʻil al-lafẓī, wa-huwa lā yajūz."

Summary

"Ḥall Talkhīṣ al-Miftāḥ" (Explaining the Summary of al-Miftāḥ), a treatise on Arabic rhetoric, by an unidentified author, being explanatory remarks, on "Talkhīṣ Miftāḥ al-ʻulūm", of Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān al-Qazwīnī (1267 or 1268-1338), known as Khaṭīb Dimashq (Preacher of Damascus), a Shāfiʻī Islamic law scholar, a judge and Arabic language philologist/rhetorician, born in Mosul (Iraq), assumed the position of "qāḍī" (judge) in several places and died in Damascus, itself a summary of the third part of "Miftāḥ al-ʻulūm", of Yūsuf ibn Abī Bakr al-Sakkākī, an Arabic language scholar and philologist (born 1160 in Khuwārizm (Khorazm viloi︠a︡ti, Uzbekistan)). The unidentified author states in the introduction that he culled his treatise from "al-ḥawāshī" (glosses) and "al-shurrāḥ" (commentators), without specification. Name of copyist and place and date of copying not mentioned, probably from the 18th century.
