البداية: "هذا كتاب نثر اللآلي من كلام مولانا أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبيطالب، عليه السلام، على ترتيب حروف المعجم، رواه الشيخ الأجلّ أبو علي الطبرسي، صاحب 'مجمع البيان في تفسير القرآن'، طيّب الله ثراه."

"Nathr al-laʼālī" (Scattered pearls), a collection of sayings (apothegms), attributed to ʻAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, the fourth Caliph (approximately 600-661), compiled and arranged alphabetically by Abū ʻAlī al-Faḍl ibn al-Ḥasan al-Ṭabarsī (died 1153), a prominent Shiʻī "mufassir" (Qurʼān commentator) and philologist (See: Ziriklī 5:148). Name of copyist and place and date of copying not mentioned, probably from the 18th century.
