Qayyūm al-samāwāt wa-al-araḍīn, mudabbir al-khalāʼiq ajmaʻīn, bāʻith al-rusul, ṣalawāt Allāh wa-salāmuhu ʻalayhim, ilá al-mukallafīn, li-hidāyatihim wa-bayān sharāʼiʻ al-dīn bi-al-dalāʼil al-qaṭʻīyah wa-wāḍiḥāt al-barāhīn ..."

On folio 22a, al-Nawawī states: "Fa-hādhā ākhir mā qaṣadtuhu min bayān al-Aḥādīth allatī jamaʻat qawāʻid al-Islām wa-taḍammanat mā lā yuḥṣá min anwāʻ al-ʻulūm fī al-uṣūl wa-al-furūʻ wa-al-ādāb wa-sāʼir wujūh al-aḥkām ..." (This is the end of what I intended to mention of the Ḥadīths that summed up the doctrines of Islam, and included countless types of sciences, on the principles, branches, etiquette, and all other aspects of provisions ...)

على وجه الورقة 22، يقول النووي: "فهذا آخر ما قصدته من بيان الأحاديث التي جمعت قواعد الإسلام وتضمّنت ما لا يحصى من أنواع العلوم في الأصول والفروع والآداب وسائر وجوه الأحكام ..."

Text ends abruptly with the explanation of the problematic words in the forty-second Ḥadith, as follows: "... al-Thānī wa-al-arbaʻūn. ʻAnān al-samāʼ, bi-fatḥ al-ʻayn, qīla huwa al-saḥāb, wa-qīla mā ʻanna laka minhā, ay, ẓahara idhā rafaʻta raʼsaka. Qawluhu 'Qurāb al-arḍ', bi-ḍamm al-qāf wa-kasrihā, lughatān, ruwiya bihimā, al-ḍamm ashhar, wa-maʻnāhu mā yuqrabu milʼuhā ..."

الخاتمة: لا يوجد خاتمة. ينتهي النص فجأة بشرح الألفاظ المشكلة في الحديث الثاني والأربعين، كما يلي: "... الثاني والأربعون. عنان السماء، بفتح العين، قيل هو السحاب، وقيل ما عنَّ لك منها، أي، ظهر إذا رفعت رأسك. قوله 'قراب الأرض'، بضم القاف وكسرها، لغتان، روي بهما، الضم أشهر، ومعناه ما يقرب مِلْئُها ..."
