Summary
The diaries of Aaron Leaming, 1750-1751, 1761, 1775, and 1776, document the economic development of Cape May, New Jersey and adjacent territory. The diaries furnish an account of land transactions, surveys, early settlers, military organizations, farming, trade in timber and other commodities, acts of New Jersey assemblies, and legal and domestic affairs. The diaries also contain a list of books in which Leaming was interested.
