Title supplied by a modern hand on fly-leaf. In manuscript on leaf 1 recto in a later hand: hādhā Kitāb sharḥ wāḍiḥ li-Maṣābīḥ al-Mishkāt [sic]. Title on the lower edges, mostly rubbed: Sharḥ wāḍiḥ ʻalá Mishkāt al-maṣābīḥ.

The text does not seem to be identical with any work in Berlin catalog (1280 sqq.), Buhar, Bankipore, and BM supplement. For a list of additional commentaries see: Berlin catalog, 1294.

Incipit: "Kitāb al-buyūʻ. Bāb al-kasb wa-ṭalab al-ḥalāl. Mā akala ṭaʻāman aḥadun, ilá ākhirihi, fīhi ḥathth wa-taḥrīḍ ʻalá ṭalab al-kasb al-ḥalāl idh fīhi fawāʼid ..."

البداية: "كتاب البيوع. باب الكسب وطلب الحلال. ما أكل طعامًا أحد، إلى آخره، فيه حثّ وتحريض على طلب الكسب الحلال إذ فيه فوائد ..."

Fairly old (16th century?) naskhī, in red and black.

Marginalia in the beginning.

Islamic binding, in brown, with flap.
