Robert Chute, b. 1926, native American (Sokoki, western Abenaki) poet and editor of The Small Pond journal.

Letters from Chute to Inman detail Chute's work as a poet, the beginnings of The Small Pond, and other events, such as Chute's wife's involvement with the Civil Rights movement in Mississippi. Included are a number of carbons of Inman's responses to Chute, several poems by Chute, some accompanied by a note by Nick Allen.
