Seventeen TLS with annotations, and one Christmas card, signed, dating from 1957 Aug 4 to 1965 Feb 19, to Mark Lutz, a Philadelphia publicist who became acquainted with Brett during a trip to Taos in 1957. The letters concern her work as an artist and the sale of her works at the Stables Gallery; life in Taos, New Mexico; travels to California and England; and her dachshund, Reggie. She also discusses her friendship with D. H. Lawrence and the portrait she painted of him, books she is reading, politics, religion, and current events. Individuals mentioned in the letters include Georgia O'Keeffe, Mabel Dodge Luhan, Frank and Millicent Waters, Joe Glasco, and Bill Goyen. The letters are accompanied by a TNS by Mark Lutz dated 1965 Feb 25, describing his acquaintance with Brett and identifying individuals mentioned in her letters.
