Vol. 1 contains a note by John Rogers dated 1872 indicating that "these sermons are analyzed by my father, A.D. 1811, in the pages which follow the sermons. The rest of the vol. was left blank by J. Bishop, but now contains MS critical notes on the Psalms (37-139) continued from some other notebook by my father."

Tipped into vol. 6: numerous miscellaneous handwritten items, including "The Manuscript of Geography" in a juvenile hand, "Remarks on Horace's 'Satyres,'" and meditations, as well as a printed sermon titled "The Advantages of Christianity," annotated in Bishop's hand.
Vol. 6 includes a collection of observations on excess and temperance in meat and drink, dated 1694, and, in a different hand, a sermon dated 1683 on the theme "Curse not the King" which alludes to the discovery of the Rye House Plot against King Charles II. Also includes numerous prayers, recipes, and a list of herbs and drugs with their prices.
Each volume has bookplate of John Rogers.
