The writer was possibly the son of William Coryton, M.P. (d. 1651).
Summary
Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, of a compendium of laws, arranged in alphabetical order. On the first page of the manuscript is a copy of "Mr Hollinsens opinion upon the Deed of Settlement made upon [?] 1662," which concerns women's rights to dispose of goods before marriage. This is followed by an index of about a hundred legal terms, arranged in alphabetical order, and then the compendium, which contains summaries of each of the terms, including Attainder, Attorney, Bastardy, Bigamy, Briefe, Estates, Executors, Rent, Steward, and Wittnesses.
