Summary
Manuscript, in a single hand, of a collection of prints, drawings, and clippings concerning the history of the Stuart kings from Robert II to Prince Robert of Bavaria. The beginning of the first volume includes extensive written descriptions of the Stuart reigns; the second volume is composed primarily of images of the main events and personalities of the periods, including the beheading of King Charles I, a portrait of John Milton, and the trial of William Lord Russell. The second volume also includes numerous satirical images of such figures and events as Oliver Cromwell and his wife, William Duke of Cumberland's funeral, and an engraving titled "Court and Country United against The Popish Invasion 1744." Several drawings are interspersed among the prints of portraits, castles, landscapes, and battle scenes. At the end of the second volume are brief discussions of the Hanoverian kings up to King George IV.
