Manuscript, in multiple hands, of the minutes of the committee of partners of the General Evening Post, a London newspaper, from 1754-1786, which address the various issues of newspaper business administration. The entries record the names and signatures of those members present, and list the committee's resolutions and proposals, which include discussions about enlarging the paper to include reviews of books and pamphlets; printing in four colors; redistributing shares occasioned by shareholders' deaths; distributing dividends; hiring editors; and finding a new paper supply vendor. Several of the entries discuss remedies for the late printing and delivery of the newspaper, including complaints by the post office of the arrival of the General Evening Post "a full hour" after other papers; other entries address the purchase of lottery tickets for the committee members. Many of the entries also provide sales figures for the newspaper since the last meeting.
