Scope and Contents
Place: Fès. This document is a copy of an earlier document dating back to late sixteenth century or early senenteenth century. This document states that a man may marry a second wife if they are childless after ten years. Another decision on the same page states that a scribe of the court may not write a legal decision or a marriage contract without the presence of someone learned in Jewish law. Many sages that were expelled from Spain are mentioned.
