Summary (English)

English (Summary)

Side A: The host starts the program with a message from Mr. Morini on what is not said in Cuba. He describes the extent of destruction in Cuba: lack of fuel, lackluster agricultural production and the disrespect for human rights. He explains that the government blames the unstable economic situation on the embargo, the fall of the Soviet bloc and even natural disasters, but Morini believes Fidel Castro is at fault because of his investments in the armed forces. The speakers determine that the Cuban people need to rise up against the government instead of fleeing, and they will be able to do so with the help of the exiled community.

Side B: The host speaks to a group of Cuban exiles who attended a convention for the organization CID (Independent and Democratic Cuba) in New Jersey. The host talks to Victor Gonzalez, who mentions that the exiles must attempt to be part of movements against Castro in Cuba rather than just asking when he will be removed from power. They claim that the projection of terror by the Castro regime is the only thing left in Cuba; there is no real government. Jorge Menendez calls on members of the Castro government to make decisions with their conscience to end the suffering of their own people. Rodolfo Hidalgo speculates that more have died attempting to leave for the United States in rafts than if they had faced Castro to overthrow him.

Summary (Spanish)

(Cuba Independiente y Democrática) en New Jersey.
