Scope and Contents
The papers of Georgii Eduardovich Berkhman (died 1929) deal with battles between the Russians and Turks in Sarykamysh in Turkey during World War I, and with Berkhman's role as general of infantry and commander of the first Caucasus Army Corps. Included are typescript copies of documents relating to the campaign, arranged partially by topic; two newspapers with articles about the campaign; and a pamphlet, Sarykamy š skaja operacija, 12-24 Dekabrja 1914 (The Sarykamysh Campaign, December 12-24, 1914, Some Documents), printed in 1934, which contains telegrams and letters to and from Berkhman, as well as other documents pertaining to his activities in the campaign.
