Biographical / Historical
Karl Friedrich Plattner was born on January 2, 1800, in Klein-Waltersdorf dei Freiberg, Germany. He studied at the Königliche Bergakademie in Freiberg before entering the metallurgy industry. He was a specialist in the use of the blowpipe and especially interested in the chemical reactions taking place. He died on January 22, 1858, in Freiberg, Germany.
