Scope and Contents
The folders here contain little information about the division's work but for copies of the division's report style sheet and index guide, and three May 1943 photographs of a mobile kitchen in Stalingrad that are mounted in punch cards. Also present is the sign from the door to room 119, the entrance to the Central Information Division.

Biographical / Historical
In October 1941 Lewis accepted an appointment to serve as the Chief of the Central Current Information Division in the Research and Analysis Branch of the Office of Strategic Services. The division served as a reference point for information about foreign and domestic places, and under Lewis's direction, data, documents, photographs, and publications were collected and organized for the use of OSS staff. Lewis resigned his position in November 1943.
