A 13th century translation, in the Saintongese or Poitevin dialect, from an unknown Latin compilation, which appears to have been mainly composed of the Liber historiæ Francorum (Gesta regum Francorum) and the Annales laurissenses, with portions of Einhard's Vita Caroli, the Vita Ludovici Pii, and Miracula S. Benedicti, the whole completed from some unknown chronicle. Includes the oldest known version of "Berte aus grans piés" (p. 53-55) cf. Introd.
