"Facsimile of an altered tree-spotting guide from the 1970s. The photocopied pages have neither images of trees nor cut-out spaces. These have become black tree-shaped blots signifying both erased memory and declining species. Secreted at the back of each copy is one of the trees cut from the original book."--Artist's statement.
