Summary
This part covers periodicals of the Church of England Zenana Missionary Society (CEZMS) and of the Indian Female Normal School and Instruction Society covering the 19th and early 20th century. The female missionaries of the CEZMS worked in zenanas in China, India, Singapore and Ceylon. They regularly contributed articles on their evangelical, educational and medical work and the customs and way of life of the women they worked among. Included also are extracts from their vivid and informative journals. The periodicals are lavishly illustrated with photographs and sketches of the towns, people and missionaries.
