Summary
Discusses the importance of giant oil fields for national energy sufficiency. Advocates oil exploration offshore California and in the North Slope of Alaska as a means of altering the decline in domestic oil production that results from the depletion of old giant oil fields and the shortage of new ones. Giant oil fields are those that initially contain at least 100 million barrels of recoverable oil.
