The visual impression of the Pennsylvania Station in New York City has been inspired by a book by author Jill Jonnes called "Conquering Gotham", which examines the historic effort necessary to envision and consruct the Station--Colophon.
The prints are collagraphs, made from plates of mat board, fabric, paper & found objects, glued together with acrylic gesso. A few of the illustrations are photo copies transferred to the printing paper, which is Fabriano Tiepolo, with acetone...The resin casting of the locomotive on the cover was made by John Utley in Queens, New York. The binding was done by James DiMarcantonio of the Hope Bindery in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
