Biographical / Historical Note
René Renne, French art critic.
Christine Boumeester (1904-1971), born 12 August 1904 in Batavia (now Jakarta), was a Dutch artist active in France.
Henri Bernard Goetz (1909-1989), artist, was born in New York on 29 September 1909 and emigrated to France in 1930.
Summary
Papers include correspondence, printed ephemera, and photographs. Correspondence consists of twelve letters to Renne, ten from Henri Goetz, typescript and autograph manuscript, signed, and two autograph manuscript letters, signed, from Christine Boumeester. Printed ephemera includes gallery and exhibition publicity for Goetz dating from 1946 to 1953. Black-and-white photographs by Marc Vaux and Yves Hervochon, also dating from the mid 1940s, document artwork by Goetz and Boumeester.
