Summary
Two autograph letters, signed, from Philip IV, King of Spain, concerning the 1650 Spanish exploration of the Gulf of California by Admiral Pedro Porter y Casanate. Both letters are dated 1650 August 6. The first letter is to Porter y Casanate and requests details of the voyage. The second letter is to the Viceroy of New Spain, Luis Enríquez de Guzmán, and requests the advice of the Viceroy regarding the management of Porter y Casanate's expedition.
