Biographical / Historical Note
Victoria Kent (1898-1987) was a Spanish-born lawyer who immigrated to the United States at the end of World War II. She founded, and for 20 years directed, the review Iberica, which was supported by her partner Louise Crane.
Zenaida Gutiérrez-Vega was a Cuban-born academic who taught at Hunter College, City University of New York, and published the biography, Victoria Kent, una vida al servicio del humanismo liberal (Málaga : Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Málaga, [2001]).
Summary
The collection includes writings, correspondence, personal and legal documents (Box 1) and photographs, artwork, and audiovisual material (Boxes 2, 3, and 4) by and about Victoria Kent. The material was accumulated by Zenaida Gutiérrez-Vega, a Cuban-born academic who taught at Hunter College, City University of New York, and published a biography of Kent in 2001.
