Biographical / Historical Note
Vinicio Paladini (1902-1971), Italian painter, associated with F. T. Marinetti and futurism, 1921-1923. During the facist regime in Italy, Paladini was exiled in United States, where he worked as an architect.
Summary
Black-and-white photographs and negatives, color drawings and watercolors, and architectural drawings of buildings and interiors designed by Vincinio Paladini. Contents include photographs, with negatives, of exhibits at the Exposition universelle et internationale, 1935, Brussels, Belgium; photographs, most with negatives, of buildings and exhibits at the Mostra autarchica del minerale italiano, 1938-1939, Rome, Italy; photographs of Linee aeree italiane offices, undated; watercolor drawings of houses in Rome and unidentified locations, undated; and drawings of a stage setting for an unidentified television production, undated. Other images, 1941-1954 and undated, probably made in the United States, include photographs of clothing stores, other retail stores, and business offices, most in New York City; photographs of chairs, desks, and other furniture; photographs of unidentified drive-in theaters; and drawings of unidentfied shopping centers. Also present is a photograph of Paladini with architect Leon Barmache, undated.
