Summary
From 1955 to 1995, a rigid and strict food allocation for the entire population in the mainland China was basic policy of the authority. The allocated food was enough or marginal for city residents, inadequate for the villagers, and far below the requirement for inmates in the concentration camp although they had the highest allocation. The direct result s nationwide occurrence of malnutriont, sporadic in urban area, prevalent in rural villages, and pandemic and severe or fatal in the concentration cmaps. The author had experienced all conditions for an inmate in a concentaration camp and also served as inmate doctor. Many unique but prevealent clinical phenomena caused by malnutriton were observed among the inmates, however, thery unknown in world literatures except for a few disorders reported by this author. As a general rule, catastrophic starvation in universally associated with inadequacy or absence of medical care facilities. If it is mad-made, medical facilities may be even worse, for lack of social or international help in the camp. That is the reason why no labloratory data could be provided and the descrition is confirned only to the abnormalities visible ot the naked eyes. The majority of the new phenomena wer observed and confirmed with therapy fefore the announcement of Holocaust Nationwide Starvation in November 1960.
