Biographical / Historical Note
Lloyd Emerson Siberell (1905-1968), American bibliographer and collector of Powysiana. Siberell was the author of A Bibliography of the First Editions of John Cowper Powys (Cincinnati: Ailanthus Press, 1934), and of an introduction for Llewelyn Powys's A Baker's Dozen (Herrin, Ill.: Trovillion private press, at the sign of the Silver horse, [1940]).
Llewelyn Powys (1884-1939), English author; brother of John Cowper Powys; married to Alyse Gregory.
Alyse Gregory (1884-1967), social reformer and author; managing editor of the literary magazine The Dial, 1924-1926; married to Llewelyn Powys.

40 autograph letters, signed, from Llewelyn Powys to Lloyd Emerson Siberell, 1932-1939, including content about Siberell's A Bibliography of the First Editions of John Cowper Powys, and Llewelyn Powys's A Baker's Dozen and Love and Death, with photographs of a portrait of Llewelyn Powys by Jerome Blum, circa 1922-1923; and 61 autograph letters, signed, from Alyse Gregory to Siberell, 1939-1961, written after Llewelyn Powys's death, about Powys and his circle, posthumous publication of Powys's writings, and her experiences during World War II in Dorset, England.
