Summary
Autograph manuscript volume, in a single hand, using mainly a cursive script, containing a course in practical and theoretical arithmetic. The volume opens with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and proceeds to weights and measures, currency and commercial calculations, measurements used by glaziers, stonemasons, pavers and other trades, the golden rule, and the rule of three. Sections are set off with elaborate headings, occasionally highlighted in red ink, and there are many pages of practice examples.
