In 1957, Hugh Tracey recorded these songs by Tongan people from the Chinteche District of Northern Nyasaland, now called Malawi. The recordings were made in mining compounds in what is now Malawi and Zambia (Tracey 1973).
Sung in Tonga (Nyasa).
