Summary
Autograph letter, signed, from Cimarron, Colfax County, New Mexico resident Robert Longwill to Marsh Giddings, governor of New Mexico. Longwill requests government assistance to address increasing violence in the Colfax County War between residents and the new owners of the Maxwell Land Grant. Longwill describes violent confrontations, including the armed theft of livestock and supplies and the murder of a Pueblo Native American trackman.
