A response by Stephen Dodge to a statement to the public by Whiting and Watson, first publishers of Scott's Family Bible (their imprint was on v. 2-6), who issued a public letter: "Scott's Family Bible. To the public, Mr. Stephen Dodge having issued proposals for publishing a new edition of Dr. Scott's Family Bible ..." The Whiting and Watson statement is dated July 26, 1813.
