A parallel series of woodcuts, on opposite pages, from the life of Christ and from the activities of "Antichrist" (i.e. the Roman Pontiff), with descriptive letterpress below. The woodcuts, formerly ascribed to Lucas Cranach, are now attributed to Hans Cranach. The planning of the work was presumably begun by Martin Luther, but the actual selection of text was made by Philipp Melanchthon and Johann Schwertfeger.
