Biographical / Historical Note
Tam Slide Film Company, also known as the Tam Slide Company and Tam Film Company, was a manufacturer of lantern slides in San Francisco, California, 1918-1922.
The Western States Gas and Electric Company incorporated in November 1910 and operated steam and hydroelectric plants in central and northern California. In 1927, the Pacific Gas and Electric Company acquired the Company.
The El Dorado Hydroelectric Project is located on the South Fork of the American River and its tributaries, and on Echo Creek, a tributary to the Upper Truckee River, in California. The project consists of several high-mountain reservoirs, an intake dam, and a 22-mile-long canal to a fore bay reservoir as well as a wood-stave pipe and steel penstock leading to a powerhouse.
