Summary
Based on Yoshida Mitsuru's personal experiences during the of final voyage the Japanese battleship Yamato. In an attempt to allow Japanese forces to reach Okinawa, Japan launched Operation Ten-Go, a suicide mission by the Yamato and other ships to attack American forces. The film shows the ensuing battle, during which the Yamato was sunk, taking most of its crew with it.
