George Rogers Clark (1752-1818) commanded the Kentucky militia (part of the Virginian troops) during the Revolutionary War. Later he held property in both Kentucky and on the Indiana frontier, but he died in considerable debt and obscurity. The George Rogers Clark papers are chiefly made up of military returns from the troops under his command during the Revolutionary War, along with some post-war financial papers.
