Description: The map shows place names, routes, and notes on country. Distance table of wagon fords. Scale: 1 inch to about 9 geographical miles. Traced by A M Melvile, January 1857. 'Constructed from observations made during a journey from Little Namaqualand to Kuruman in October 1856'. 'Respectfully presented to the Colonial Government with a memoir by (signed) Rob. Moffat junr. Gov. Sur. & C.E. ...' The map has been damaged along old fold lines with some loss of detail.
