Collection relating to the Steel family. Originally from Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom, several branches of the family emigrated to Australia at different times during the nineteenth century. Many of them ended up in Tasmania. This collection has correspondence, business papers and family memorabilia from the UK and Australia. The documents run from the early nineteenth century up until the middle of the twentieth.
