"Reprinted entire in the British bibliographer [v. 3] at which time one hundred and twenty copies were printed off separately."--Lowndes, Biblipgrapher's manual.
Ed. by S. E. Brydges and Joseph Haslewood.
Reprint of the ed. of 1614 preceded by reproduction of the title-page, dedication, and prefatory notes of the 1st ed. (1600)
Ascribed to John Bodenham, who probably projected the work and befriended the editor, the "A. B." (as yet unidentified) who signed the dedication and prefatory sonnet in the first edition. More recent authorities ascribe the work to "L. N." who signs the preface, "L. N." being the transposed initials of Nicholas Ling. Cf. Introd. of 1950 ed., also Dict. nat. biog.
