Yaqūlu al-ʻabd al-faqīr ilá Rabbihi al-qadīr, ʻAlī ibn Khiḍr ibn Aḥmad al-ʻAmrūsī, askanahu Allāh bi-mannihi Jannat al-Firdaws: al-Ḥamdu lillāh alladhī anʻama ʻalá al-insān bi-maʻrifatih, wa-al-ṣalāh wa-al-salām ʻalá Muḥammad wa-ālihi. Wa-baʻd, fa-hādhihi ḥawāshin kāshifah li-mā lam yattaḍiḥ maʻnāh min alfāẓ Sharḥ al-ʻAllāmah Sayyidī Muḥammad ibn Manṣūr al-Hudhudī, jamaʻtuhā qāṣidan bi-dhālika al-thawāb min al-Karīm al-Wahhāb ..."

البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وبه نستعين. يقول العبد الفقير إلى ربه القدير، علي بن خضر بن أحمد العمروسي، أسكنه الله بمنه جنة الفردوس: الحمد لله الذي أنعم على الإنسان بمعرفته، والصلاة والسلام على محمد وآله. وبعد، فهذه حواش كاشفة لما لم يتضح معناه من ألفاظ شرح العلامة سيدي محمد بن منصور الهدهدي، جمعتها قاصدًا بذلك الثواب من الكريم الوهاب ..."

In fair naskh script, in black ink, on white paper; some markings in red; some notes on the margins; catchwords.

Folio 1a: An ownership statement: "Mulk al-faqīr Ibrāhīm ibn Ibrāhīm Khawājah al-Shāfiʻī."

At the end of the colophon are written nine verses of poetry, about God, His word and His attributes, attributed to muḥaqqiq al-ʻaṣr al-Qarāfī (probably Aḥmad ibn Idrīs al-Qarāfī, a leading theoretician of the Malikī tradition in Egypt, died 1285). The poem starts with: Madlūl alfāẓi kalām Allāhi // qismān fa-iḥfaẓ lā takun bi-lāhī. And ends with: Qāla jamīʻ dhālika al-Qarāfī // muḥaqqiq al-ʻaṣr bi-lā khilāfi.

بعد الخاتمة تسعة أبيات من الشعر عن الله وكلامه وصفاته منسوبة إلى "محقق العصر" القرافي (لعله أحمد بن إدريس القرافي، من أبرز فقهاء المذهب المالكي في مصر، توفي 1285). تبدأ الأبيات بـِ: مدلول ألفاظ كلام الله // قسمان فاحفظ لا تكن بلاهي. وتنتهي بـِ: قال جميع ذلك القرافي // محقق العصر بلا خلاف.

Colophon: "Wa-Allāh aʻlam bi-al-ṣawāb, wa-ilayhi al-marjiʻ wa-al-maʼāb. Tamma mā jamaʻahu bi-yadihi al-fāniyah al-faqīr ilá raḥmat Rabbihi ʻAlī ibn Khiḍr ibn Aḥmad al-ʻAmrūsī al-Mālikī, nafaʻa Allāh bi-hi kamā nafaʻa bi-aṣlihi, innahu ʻalá mā yashāʼ qadīr wa-bi-al-ijābah qadīr [jadīr]. Wa-ṣallá Allāh ʻalá Sayyidinā Muḥammad wa-ʻalá ālihi wa-ṣaḥbihi wa-sallam. Wa-kān al-farāgh min kitābat hādhā al-jamʻ al-mubārak wa-min al-taʼlīf ayḍan yawm al-Ithnayn [al-Khamīs] al-mubārak, al-sādis wa-al-ʻishrīn min shahr Jumādá al-Ākhirah alladhī huwa min shuhūr sanat 1165, alf wa-miʼah wa-khamsah wa-sittīn min al-Hijrah al-Nabawīyah, ʻalá ṣāḥibihā afḍal al-ṣalāh wa-azká al-salām."

الخاتمة: "والله أعلم بالصواب، وإليه المرجع والمآب. تم ما جمعه بيده الفانية الفقير إلى رحمة ربه علي بن خضر بن أحمد العمروسي المالكي، نفع الله به كما نفع بأصله، إنه على ما يشاء قدير وبالإجابة قدير [جدير]. وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم. وكان الفراغ من كتابة هذا الجمع المبارك ومن التأليف أيضًا يوم الاثنين [الخميس] المبارك، السادس والعشرين من شهر جمادى الآخرة الذي هو من شهور سنة 1165، ألف ومائة وخمسة وستين من الهجرة النبوية، على صاحبها أفضل الصلاة وأزكى السلام."

Translation of the colophon: "God is more knowledgeable of what is true. To Him is the reference and the returning. Completed is what was compiled by the perishing hand of the poor to the mercy of his Lord, ʻAlī ibn Khiḍr ibn Aḥmad al-ʻAmrūsī al-Mālikī, may God benefit with it as He benefitted with its origin. He is able to do whatever He wills and is able [worthy] of responding. May God pray on our Master Muḥammad, his family and his companions and grant them peace. This blessed compilation was copied and also authored on blessed Monday [Thursday], 26 of Jumādá al-Ākhirah, 1165 of the Hijrah of the Prophet [11 April, 1752], may the best of prayer and the purest of peace be upon Him."

Treatise on Islamic doctrines by ʻAlī ibn Khiḍr ibn Aḥmad al-ʻAmrūsī (died 1759 or 1760), an Egyptian Malikī Islamic law scholar of al-Azʹhar, being glosses on the commentary of Muḥammad ibn Manṣūr al-Hudhudī (active 17th century), a little known author, on "Umm al-barahīn" (also called "al-ʻAqīdah al-ṣughrá" and "al-Sanūsīyah") of Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf al-Sanūsī (approximately 1427-approximately 1490), a leading Muslim scholar and notable from Tilimsan (Tlemcen, Algeria). Copied on Monday [Thursday], 26 Jumādá al-Ākhirah, 1165 of the Hijrah (11 April, 1752). Name of copyist and place of copying not mentioned.
