At the end of the colophon are written nine verses of poetry, about God, His word and His attributes, attributed to muḥaqqiq al-ʻaṣr al-Qarāfī (probably Aḥmad ibn Idrīs al-Qarāfī, a leading theoretician of the Malikī tradition in Egypt, died 1285). The poem starts with: Madlūl alfāẓi kalām Allāhi // qismān fa-iḥfaẓ lā takun bi-lāhī. And ends with: Qāla jamīʻ dhālika al-Qarāfī // muḥaqqiq al-ʻaṣr bi-lā khilāfi.
Colophon: "Wa-Allāh aʻlam bi-al-ṣawāb, wa-ilayhi al-marjiʻ wa-al-maʼāb. Tamma mā jamaʻahu bi-yadihi al-fāniyah al-faqīr ilá raḥmat Rabbihi ʻAlī ibn Khiḍr ibn Aḥmad al-ʻAmrūsī al-Mālikī, nafaʻa Allāh bi-hi kamā nafaʻa bi-aṣlihi, innahu ʻalá mā yashāʼ qadīr wa-bi-al-ijābah qadīr [jadīr].
Translation of the colophon: "God is more knowledgeable of what is true. To Him is the reference and the returning. Completed is what was compiled by the perishing hand of the poor to the mercy of his Lord, ʻAlī ibn Khiḍr ibn Aḥmad al-ʻAmrūsī al-Mālikī, may God benefit with it as He benefitted with its origin. He is able to do whatever He wills and is able [worthy] of responding. May God pray on our Master Muḥammad, his family and his companions and grant them peace. This blessed compilation was copied and also authored on blessed Monday [Thursday], 26 of Jumādá al-Ākhirah, 1165 of the Hijrah of the Prophet [11 April, 1752], may the best of prayer and the purest of peace be upon Him."
