The papers consists of correspondence between Allen T. Hazen and his colleagues and publishers, including Wilmarth Sheldon Lewis and Yale University Press, regarding the publication of his three-volume work A Catalogue of Horace Walpole's Library (1969), and the 1973 reprint of his A Bibliography of the Strawberry Hill Press (1942); within the letters are title page sketches, galleys, and page proofs. In addition, there are reviews of A Bibliography of the Strawberry Hill Press (1942); a typescript of his talk on Walpole's library given at the Modern Language Association (1954); and a typescript photocopy of a paper by Paul J. Korshin on Hazen and his achievements in eighteenth-century bibliography, which was published in Studies in Burke and His Time 12, no. 3 (1971): 1862-85.
Also present is Hazen's heavily annotated copy of A Bibliography of the Strawberry Hill Press (1942), with various notes and letters laid in, and five card file boxes holding index cards and paper slips with records of and notes on books included in both A Bibliography of the Strawberry Hill Press and A Catalogue of Horace Walpole's Library. The material in the card files is arranged alphabetically by author. Some of the notes and annotations were made by Hazen's colleague Clyde S. Kilby (1902-1986).
