In large naskh script, in black ink on thick white paper, ample spaces between the verses of the poem to accomodate the numerous notes and commentaries (with some in red), interlinear and on the margins; markings in red; no catchwords; inserts in Arabic and Ottoman Turkish.
On the back of the front cover: An ownerhip statement: "Dakhala fī mulk al-Shaykh Fāris al-Ḥimṣī."

On folios 91a-93b: Various quotations in different hands.

Summary
"Ḥirz al-amānī wa-wajh al-tahānī" (Attainment of desires and semblance of delights), also called "al-Shāṭibīyah" and "Qaṣīdat al-Shāṭibī", a treatise in verse on "qirāʼāt" (Qurʼān readings), by al-Qāsim ibn Fīrruh al-Shāṭibī al-Ruʻaynī (1144-1194), a prolific scholar, prominent in "qirāʼāt", Ḥadīth, "tafsīr" (Qurʼān commentaries) and philology, who was blind, with very sharp memory; born in Shāṭibah (Játiva, Spain) and died in Egypt. Name of copyist and place and date of copying not mentioned; probably from the 17th century.
