Biographical / Historical Note
Susan Armyne (or Airmine) (1649-1713) married Sir Henry Belasyse, who was killed in a duel in July 1667. She was later courted by James, Duke of York, but his brother King Charles II forbade the marriage, and she eventually married again to John (or James) Fortrey. Baroness Belasyse died in 1713.
Summary
Manuscript copy, on paper, in the hand of Susan Armyne Belasyse, of a selection of prayers from an unidentified edition of The whole duty of man. The volume includes morning and evening prayers and prayers for grace. The final page of the text is dated "November the 27 1667."
