Biographical / Historical Note
Jeanne Julie and Justine Rose de Chamborant were the daughters of Andre-Claude, Marquis de Chamborant (1732-1805), a leading French Army officer. They were educated as canonesses in the convent of Argentière. Little is known about their lives as adults.
Summary
Manuscript fair copy, probably in the hands of Justine and Julie de Chamborant, of their translation of Metastasio's original version of "La Clemenza di Tito." The small volume is designed to resemble a printed edition, including a title page, a dedication to "Monsieur J.J.G***," and a preface.
