Biographical / Historical Note
Samuel Vince (1749-1821) was an English clergyman, mathematician and astronomer who was Plumian Professor of Astronomy and Experimental Philosophy at Cambridge University from 1796 until his death in 1821.
Summary
Autograph letter, signed, to the English mathematician Charles Hutton, inquiring about the relative cost of having mathematical figures engraved in wood or in copperplate to illustrate his proposed publication of a "complete Course of Lectures in Mathematics and Philosophy" in two volumes.
