Biographical / Historical Note
In 1854, Joseph Canedy (1811-1902) of Stamford, Vermont, purchased 320 acres of land in Northfield, Minnesota. He moved permanently to his Minnesota homestead in 1856.
Summary
Autograph manuscript ledger of Joseph Canedy documenting activities on his farms in Stamford, Vermont, and Northfield, Minnesota, 1853-1869. Entries record items traded and bought, names of customers, and labor completed for other individuals. There are also loose accounting notes and receipts as well as pasted down clippings relating to housekeeping and children.
